A Physiotherapist is a primary health care practitioner who utilizes extensive knowledge in areas of orthopaedics, neurology, cardiorespiratory, paediatrics, women's health, seniors' health, post-surgical procedures and sports injuries.
A physiotherapist will complete an extensive assessment that may include your health history, evaluation of pain and movement patterns, strength, joint range of motion, reflexes, sensation and cardiorespiratory status. In addition, the physiotherapist examines relevant x-rays, laboratory tests, medical records and surgical notes. Based on this assessment the physiotherapist establishes a diagnosis and works in partnership with you to develop individualized goals and treatment programs.
Physiotherapy treatment can include manual therapy, therapeutic devices, therapeutic exercises, acupuncture and work hardening. A physiotherapist promotes independence. Emphasis is placed on what you can do for yourself and on education to prevent future injuries or disability.
We understand that some conditions or injuries can make it difficult to receive rehabilitation at our clinic.
A physiotherapist will come to your home and offer a high-quality treatment in the comfort of your home.
Physiotherapy helps you get the most from your physical abilities based on your rehabilitation capacity so that you may return to a normal life.

A custom orthotic is a device designed to align the foot and ankle into the most anatomically efficient position.
They look like insoles, but are biomechanical medical appliances that are custom made to correct your specific foot imbalance.
Custom orthotics work on your feet much like glasses work on your eyes - they reduce stress and strain on your body by bringing your feet back into proper alignment. The plastic body of the custom orthotic helps to re-align the foot by redirecting and reducing certain motion that takes place during the gait cycle.
Custom orthotics fit into your shoes as comfortably as an insole - and they have the advantage of having been made from precise imprints of your feet.

BRACES & SPLINTS
There are various support splints and braces that can be beneficial in helping with injury recovery for the purposes of joint stabilization, reducing swelling and inflammation, or promoting muscle/tendon flexibility.
Casts and splints are orthopaedic devices that are used to protect and support fractured or injured bones and joints. They help to immobilize the injured limb to keep the bone in place until it fully heals.
Casts differ from splints because they provide more support and protection for a limb that is injured or broken. They are made from materials like plaster or fibreglass that can be easily moulded to the shape of the injured arm or leg.
Splints, also known as half-casts, provide less support than casts, but are faster and easier to use. They also can be tightened or loosened easily if the swelling in the arm or leg increases or decreases.
